To celebrate British Science Week, Oak Class scientists experimented with different materials to see which ones dissolved in water to create solutions. The children had fun mixing, stirring and observing. In computing and using plasticine, the children crafted their favourite characters from books in celebration of World Book Day. They used stop motion animation to bring the characters alive with clever editing and humour. This week also saw the launch of a special lunchtime

It has been the perfect day for cakes and for choosing a new book. Thank you to everyone who donated books, joined in, shared their favourite reads, and discovered new stories to love. This week, Oak Class have enjoyed hands-on maths; they learned how to measure volume and capacity. The children worked in teams to tackle Mrs Coleman’s tricky water challenges, sharpening their estimating skills and having a splash-tastic time! Not only did the young mathematicians learn about measurement units like millilitres and litres, but they also discovered the importance of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
