What a busy week! Despite the bank holiday, we have been working very hard - and making sure we have lots of fun. Little Solsbury Hill
Last week, Oak Class enjoyed an excellent outdoor learning experience to the Iron Age hillfort on Little Solsbury Hill, expertly led by Mr Rouse. Before leaving school, the children decorated their faces and arms with Celtic-inspired patterns using face paint. With many dressed in tunics, the class looked every bit like a tribe ready for exploration. Football Tournament Win!
The Swainswick football team enjoyed a match against Batheaston Primary School this week. Both teams were well matched, making it an exciting and evenly balanced game from start to finish. The Swainswick players attacked with confidence and creativity, keeping the game moving well, while the defenders stayed calm and focused, marking closely and working hard to keep things steady at the back. Art in Apple
Apple had loads of fun yesterday, creating their own sculptures out of natural materials inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, Patrick Dougherty and Jaakko Pernu. The children were very creative! This week we have also written wonderful character descriptions in Literacy, finished out fractions unit in maths and learnt all about river pollution in Science.

Hazel class updates
What a wonderfully busy and exciting week it has been in Hazel Class! We have proudly completed our Fractions unit in Maths, and the children have shown fantastic perseverance and teamwork while tackling some tricky challenges. Weekly Roundup
It’s been a busy week! We’ve had Hazel and Oak class trip to Stonehenge, Oak class Celts day and forest school! We’ve been having so much fun in the sunshine, and have been really enjoying our learning. Mrs Simmons, Mr Griggs and Mrs Boyce went to our Trust Academy Leaders Day on Monday, which was focussed on better supporting children who have special educational needs or are experiencing disadvantage. Art in Apple
Apple have continued their 'Earth art' topic by painting stones! We explored making patterns and are now in the process of painting rocks to look like animals. We have also been busy writing setting descriptions in Literacy, researching endangered animal species in Science and having as much fun as we can!

Hazel class visit to Stonehenge
Hazel Class had a fantastic trip to Stonehenge and enjoyed a wonderful day of learning in beautiful sunshine! Throughout the day, the children were exceptionally well behaved and represented the school brilliantly. They took part in an exciting Neolithic workshop where they completed three engaging activities.
