What a great week! The weather has been warm and we've even had some sunny days!
Our value for the term is ‘Courage’, and this week we learnt about the 6 types of everyday courage: moral, social, emotional, intellectual, creative and physical. We discussed how we show these types of courage without even realising it.
We celebrated World Book day with an amazing costume parade and we were very lucky to have Alice Tait join each class to complete a range of activities. See here for more pictures.
On Thursday afternoon Miss Hitchcock attended a Trust Early Years network meeting, led by Sakara Vitellero, thinking about what makes an outstanding Early Years curriculum.
What's been happening in classes:
Apple:
Apple Class have had lots of fun with their writing, based on their class book 'Shh, we have a plan. Click here to see pictures.
Hazel:
What a fantastic week we have had! Everyone had great fun exploring the different scents and flavours, and we each planted our own herb to take home! Click here to see pictures. This week our tasting adventure continues as we will be smelling and tasting tomatoes. We are very excited to see what everyone thinks!
Oak:
In Oak Class, World Book Day was filled with creativity, imagination and a love for reading. The classroom was visited by a colourful collection of characters including brave heroes, adventurous explorers, curious animals, fast cars and a magical fairy. We started with making a collaborative paperchain with each link of the chain decorated with quotes and illustrations. We also welcomed Alice Tait into Oak Class; we enjoyed a fascinating insight into the world of writing and illustration. In the afternoon, using plasticine, lolly sticks and stop frame animation, the children brought their characters to life. Much fun was had!
