The school clubs run at Swainswick, either after school or during lunch hours, offer our children a wide variety of different experiences.
We are always looking to add to the clubs available and welcome your ideas – please let the office know your suggestions.
As the children progress further up the school they have the opportunity to take part in music lessons during school hours.
Children are offered guitar, keyboard, violin and recorder lessons.
These lessons are taught by members of the B&NES peripatetic music service, and are paid for by parents.
Purchasing an instrument can be very expensive so it may be more cost-effective to hire an instrument from B&NES Music Service’s bank of instruments.
The hire fee for instruments is from £20 per term (£60 per school year). Hire of instruments is subject to availability.
Your child is eligible to hire an instrument if they are in full time education in a B&NES School.
To find out which instruments are available to hire, please contact B&NES Music Service.
In addition, children have free Djembe drumming lessons each week, with the different age groups accessing this throughout the year. These are funded by a generous donation from the Swainswick School Trust.
