Maths investigations in Oak Class
This week, Oak Class have enjoyed hands-on maths; they learned how to measure volume and capacity. The children worked in teams to tackle Mrs Coleman’s tricky water challenges, sharpening their estimating skills and having a splash-tastic time! Not only did the young mathematicians learn about measurement units like millilitres and litres, but they also discovered the importance of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Exploring the Shang dynasty in Hazel class
This week in Hazel Class, we’ve launched into our brand-new topic on the Shang Dynasty — and what a fantastic start we’ve had! Teamwork in Apple
Apple class have been having lots of fun this week. Year1 and Year 2 have really enjoyed practising our times tables using different games, while Reception children were making towers to compare height and length, using key vocabulary. The whole class worked together to make a giant train track that filled the classroom - what an amazing job!. Engineers in Oak
The young engineers in Oak Class have been hard at work this term, building electric cars. This week, the children have started to add bodywork and have made technical adjustments – fine tuning each component for maximum performance. Maths and art in Hazel
This week, Hazel Class have continued their work on fractions. We have explored unit and non-unit fractions, and the children can now confidently explain the roles of the denominator and numerator. They also practised ordering fractions and showed great progress in comparing their sizes. Debbie visits schools across the country to provide feedback on their safeguarding systems, processes and culture.
