A Wonderful Start to the New School Year

It has been a lovely first day at Swainswick Church School, and we couldn’t have asked for a more positive start to the new school year.
As the new Head of School, I have really enjoyed meeting so many of the children, visiting the classrooms and sharing our hopes for the new year though our first assembly. I even had an impromptu question and answer session with Year 5 and 6, who had some fantastic ideas for school improvements. It has been wonderful to see everyone settling in so well, with a real sense of excitement, enthusiasm and positivity across the school.
Our new reception children have also settled in well and had a special moment with their year 6 buddies this afternoon.
Thank you to the children, families and staff for making our first day such a welcoming one for all. We are looking forward to what lies ahead and, after such a fantastic start, we are excited to begin our first full week together next week.
