Oak class visit to Stonehenge
Oak Class had a fantastic day out at Stonehenge, made even better by bright sunshine and lots of enthusiasm. As soon as we arrived, we set off around the stones, listening intently as our guide explained how the monument was built and why its alignment with the summer solstice is so remarkable. The excitement continued in our hands-on discovery workshop, where the class recreated a Bronze Age burial. The children examined artefacts from the area and discussed what these clu

Tadpoles in Apple
Apple Class were very lucky today. One of the children collected frog spawn a few weeks ago and has been observing the metamorphosis into tadpoles. He very kindly (and carefully!) brought a small tank into class ready for show and tell. The children were amazed and full of curiosity, asking questions about what tadpoles eat and how they turn into frogs. What a wonderful show and tell!

In Maths we have continued to work on fractions (year 2), shapes (Reception) and po

They explored the many theories about why it was built – whether as a giant calendar linked to astronomy, a place of healing, or a site for important ceremonies – and debated which explanations they found most convincing. We are looking forward to our trip to Stonehenge next week!

We’ve begun our exciting new topic book, The Thames and Tides Club, and on Thursday the children thoroughly enjoyed trying a bit of “mudlarking” of their own—there was lots of curiosity and exploration! In Maths, we’ve dived straight into our Fractions B topic with confidence, and in Art this week we’ve been developing our skills in tone and shading, producing some lov

Easter Service at Woolley Church
Today, the sun was shining as we walked across the valley to Woolley. During our Easter service, we sang, listened to prayers and poems and heard from Reverend Cath, who shared an Easter reflection with us. It was lovely to spend time all together reflecting on the new life that Easter brings.
