This week we have jumped straight into our exciting new maths topic: decimals. The class has made a fantastic start, showing great enthusiasm and understanding. We are so impressed with how well the children have begun to understand this tricky concept already—what a brilliant effort. In DT and Science, we will be exploring th

Science experiments in Apple
Apple class have been having lots of fun with our new Science topic, 'Super Scientists'. We started the week with Isaac Newton and explored his understanding of gravity. We investigated this using spinners and paperclips. We noticed that the heavier spinner would hit the ground first because it is heavier. We then moved on to his work on light, focusing on what happens to light as it moves through a transparent object. We used a range of prisms to explore how light travelled

Hazel update
As you may have already heard, this year’s Hazel Class end-of-year production is The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse — and Hazel Class are incredibly excited to get started! We can’t wait to see the story come to life on stage. In Science this week, we explored how sound can change in pitch and volume. The children had the chance to create their very own harmonics — and well done to those who managed to produce a sound that didn’t resemble a party popper exploding! In Ar
