We’ve had a great week. The book fair has been at Swainswick, which has been kindly run by Kelly. Huge thanks to Kelly for running this so brilliantly, supported by an able team of Oak class pupils. We hope you have enjoyed it and have been able to get some great new books to read.

Yesterday, we welcomed the children who will join us in Reception in September for a stay and play. Apple class were so kind, sharing their favourite activities and stories with their new friends. Miss Woodford read, “We’re going on a Bear Hunt,” before it was time to go home. Everyone had a lovely time.

Today we have been able to enjoy our Sports Day. Well done to everyone for their brilliant sportsmanship and kind support of their classmates. It was a lovely afternoon. Huge thanks to all the families who came and cheered the children on, and thanks to Mr Rouse and Miss Hitchcock for leading the event. Thanks also to the Wills family for kindly allowing us to use their field. The cup winners will be announced on Monday.

As you may be aware, we have unavoidable staff absence in the office at the moment. This absence will continue next week. We are working hard to respond to all emails and phone calls that come in during the day, and thank you for your patience with this.

Goodbye Mrs Tiller:

Today we have said goodbye to Mrs Tiller as she is leaving Swainswick to enable her to spend more time with her family and enjoy travelling. We had a little celebration for Mrs Tiller on the steps outside. Please click here to see some pictures.

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
