Weekly Round Up
It has been a busy and rewarding week at Swainswick Church School, with the children enjoying a wide range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We are delighted to share some of this week's highlights and celebrate the achievements of our pupils.
Red Kites and Robins enjoyed a visit to the Guildhall in Bath to attend the Bath Literature festival, joining sessions with different authors. We were incredibly proud of the children, who represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit.
Next week, Miss Hitchcock will begin her maternity leave as she prepares to welcome her new baby. We would like to thank her for all of her hard work and commitment to our school community, and we wish her every happiness during this exciting time. We look forward to keeping in touch and, in due course, welcoming her back to Swainswick Church School.
Finally, we have been asked to share the attached information about the Pathways Study, a research project looking at how children aged 9–12 and their families experience and access support for behavioural, attentional and emotional regulation difficulties. If you feel this may be relevant to your family and would be interested in contributing to the research, please have a look at the attached flyer for further details.
Weekly class updates:
In Apple and Robins have been to the Bath Literature Festival, finished their shadow puppets and completed some super writing. Read more here.
In Oak and Red Kites, they have been completing maths challenges and also went the the Literature Festival. Read more here.
Other exciting opportunities:
Band workshop at Wiltshire Music Hub
Come and join us for a rock band workshop on October, 23rd in Trowbridge. Led by professional musicians and teachers Jamie Williams and David Garcia, budding rockstars will form bands, try out some classic rock and pop songs, create riffs, and build towards an informal performance.
There is no band experience necessary - the day is all about giving them the chance music with others. If they already play in a band they are very welcome to sign up in their existing line up. For those in Year 5+ playing guitar, bass, drums or keys (other instruments also considered but please get in touch first before booking).
