Apple Class 6.11.26

We have had a busy, fun week in Apple class, and the children have worked incredibly hard.

In Reception, we have been reading Little Bear Lost, enjoying Drawing Club, and doing a fantastic job sounding out words and writing phonics sounds. In maths, we used positional language to create obstacle courses, went on a shape hunt, and learned about circles and triangles. In Years 1 & 2, the children have been mastering place value by making 10s and 1s, exploring light and dark in science using dark boxes, and starting their exciting new topic on Ancient Egypt by exploring various artefacts.

To make things run as smoothly as possible, we are updating our home reading routine. We sent Little Wandle books home throughout this week, but have realised it works much better for the weekend so we can keep our classroom sets together. Every Monday, your child will bring home a self-chosen "reading for pleasure" book to share together.

Every Friday, they will bring home their matched "Little Wandle" phonics book that they have practiced in school all week. Please ensure all books are returned on Monday morning so we can sort the sets for the next groups.

Thank you for your support, have a fantastic weekend, and please come and ask if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Miss Williams

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
