Oak Class 6.11.26
Rivers, Fractions and Handwriting Success
It has been another busy week of learning in Oak Class. In Geography, the children took part in thoughtful discussions about the importance of rivers. They enjoyed sharing their own experiences of visiting rivers and explored how rivers support leisure, industry and tourism in different ways.
In English, the children reflected on and evaluated their handwriting. They considered letter formation, the size and consistency of their writing, spacing between words and their confidence in using joins. This helped each child identify what they are doing well and what they would like to improve.
In Maths, the children began an exciting new topic on fractions. They particularly enjoyed learning through games, including Fraction Snakes and Ladders and a matching activity that challenged them to identify equivalent fractions. It was wonderful to see the children learning collaboratively while developing their understanding in a fun and engaging way.
