This week Year 4 and 5 have been working in Swainswick Church, while the Year 6s completed their SATS. We studied the history, and found out that the door on the other side in the North wall was added in the 1600s by the family living in the Manor House so they could have their own private entrance! We drew timelines, or our favourite architectural feature.  On Tuesday we measured all sorts of different parts, using our knowledge of metres and centimetres. This also involved a lot of adding up for the 3 groups that measured the perimeter! It was not easy given the terrain but they had similar measurements of approximately 62, 63 and 66 metres. We also copied the stained glass then on Thursday wrote poems linked to the sounds of the church and churchyard.

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
