It’s been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school for Term 6. Although the weather hasn’t always been kind to us this week, we’ve still been having a great time.

Thank you so much to everyone who has volunteered to help with Forest School trips this term. Please remember to add your name when using the Microsoft sign up form so we can see who is kindly offering to support.

What's been happening in classes:

Apple:

What a busy week in Apple Class! This week we have enjoyed reading Not Now Bernard. Reception children invented some amazing superheroes to save Bernard from the monster. Year 1 children came up with an alternative ending where Bernard and the monster went on a different adventure each day of the week.

The highlight of the week for many children in Apple Class was the smell test. This was part of our science learning, looking at our super senses. Teddy said, "Some of the smells were nice but I didn't like them all." Lissie said, "I guessed some of the smells correctly, but it was a tricky challenge."

Hazel:

Hazel class have been enjoying their science lesson this week, learning all about plants and seeds. Click here for more information.

Oak:

Oak and Apple class attended the multi-skills festival today. The children had a great time. Click here for pictures. Apple class have written some messages for Oak class, as they led the activities. Charlie said, “Thank you for helping us to have a fun time. My favourite was mouse and cat.” Jesse said, “Dear Oak class, Thank you for the games and you must be tired from carrying all those things!” Well done everyone, and thank you to all of the volunteers who supported us on this trip.

Art shirt donations required:

Oak class are looking for some large t-shirts to use as art shirts. If you have any spare at home that you would be willing to donate, please give them directly to Mrs Coleman.

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
