Weekly Round Up - 9.10.2026
This week we have been getting into the Autumn spirit during our singing assemblies, rehearsing some classic autumnal songs in preparation for our upcoming Harvest Service. We look forward to sharing our singing with families — please see the dates below for more information.
Continuing our focus on our school value of ‘Respect’, we have been exploring the idea of faith in action. In assembly, the children learned about pilgrimages and special journeys that are important within different religions. We made connections with our own school community and the journey we will make on our walk to Woolley Church for our Harvest Service during the final week before half term.
We have also been enjoying plenty of opportunities to get active! Our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils proudly represented Swainswick at the Rugby Festival in Batheaston, showing fantastic teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. A huge thank you to our own Mr Rouse for organising the event, Andie for volunteering and coaching, Avon RFC for their wonderful hospitality, St Mark’s for their outstanding refereeing, and the Bath Rugby Foundation for sharing their skills and expertise. Most importantly, well done to all the children for their fantastic efforts and enthusiasm, and to all the staff who supported and helped get them there. It was a brilliant opportunity for everyone to develop their rugby skills, work as a team and enjoy being part of a wonderful sporting community!
