Robins - Drawing Club, Poetry and Science!
In reception this week, the children have had great fun in Drawing club exploring The Three Little Pigs story. They did some fantastic acting and created pictures showing different parts of the story. I was very impressed to see the children using their phonics knowledge to write different sounds. In Maths they enjoyed making patterns using different objects.
In Year 1 and 2 the children used rhyming words to create their own fabulous poems based on the story There’s a Rang tan in my Bedroom. In Maths they have been doubling and finding parts of numbers. We played a fun guessing game with 10 counters! We hid some in one hand and left the rest open. Our partners then used their maths superpowers to guess exactly how many counters were hiding in our closed hands.
In Science we have been learning about the parts of a plant, and pollination. Reception and Year 1 created some plant pictures and identified the different parts of a plant. Year 2 and 3 beautifully sketched the stages of pollination and discussed what happened during the process.
