This week in Oak Class, we have been thinking about how to navigate the digital world safely and thoughtfully.  Our learning has deepened our understanding of cyberbullying and the impact of digital footprints. Using drama, the children worked collaboratively to act out various scenarios that illustrate the effects of online behaviour.

The children discussed how unkind comments can have a significant impact when shared over the internet. We all agreed on a commitment to kindness and thinking carefully before posting content.

Robyn said, “I think it’s really important to stay safe on the internet and for young children to stay safe. I learnt that you shouldn’t always believe people on the internet and you should speak to a safe adult if you are worried.”

Casper said, “I learnt that just because you delete something, it doesn’t mean no-one else can see it because people can screenshot it.”

Parent

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
