New Buildings for Hazel & Apple Class
Swainswick Primary has just received more great news as the green light has been given for a new building project.
This exciting decision by the council, to invest £750,000 into the school, will create a range of modern purpose built facilities that will include two large classrooms equipped with the latest technology, an outside learning area, a new library, brand new toilet facilities and a brand new sports/play area.
This is fantastic news for the journey of the school. Recently appointed, Headteacher Grant Swarbrooke is delighted. ‘This is an exciting time for the school – providing an inspiring light-filled classrooms within our existing beautiful location is very special indeed.’ In addition to the stunning surroundings the school is well-equipped with excellent resources, including banks of iPads and laptops, touch sensitive screens in classrooms and extensive Forest School facilities.
Whilst the school is set in a rolling rural landscape, it is still only a 3 minute drive from Larkhall. Supporting our parents is important to us, and the school is currently planning to provide a bus service together with a breakfast club.
These latest developments, together with a committed, creative teaching staff - all indicate that Swainswick is buzzing about the future.
The Public Consultation was held on the 28th September at school, as part of the planning process. Plans were shared, and the architects and BANES were on hand to answer questions - there was lots of excitement and positive comments from parents, children, teachers and the local community.
