Oak class learning

Rehearsals for “Pirates of the Curry Bean” are underway, and Oak Class has made a wonderful start.  The children are learning their lines with enthusiasm, singing with confidence and using impressive dance moves.  Enthusiasm and teamwork are shining through – well done, everyone.

And reflecting back, what a fantastic way Oak finished off Term 5.  Year 6 made the most of their post-SATs choclate fountain celebration and enjoyed a trip into Bath where they put real-life skills into action – buying a bus ticket, choosing a brunch meal-deal and navigating the city with growing confidence.  Mrs Coleman was incredibly proud and impressed with how they represented Swainswick School.  The children were kind and supportive to each other, polite to shoppers, and friendly and respectful to shop staff.  Their behaviour was noticed and apprecaited by those around them.

The celebrations continued with exclusive use of the trampoline park at Bath Sports Centre where the children jumped high, jumped in, jumped over and jumped with style.  Energy, laughter and impresssive moves all round.

And Year 5 had a wonderful day in Apple Class. They practised their Year 6 leadership skills, supporting the younger children with kindness and encouragement.  Their gentle empathy and growing confidence shows that they are more than ready to take on the responsibilities in September.

Back at school, Oak Class enjoyed hands-on creative activities, including designing nature-inspired celtic mazes and creating Neolithic grooved ware pottery.  As always, their artwork was detailed and genuinely beautiful – a wonderful blend of history and creativity.

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
