Another fantastic week at Swainswick!
On Tuesday, we welcomed Faye Pinner (our Trust Assistant Director of Learning) to spend the morning with us. Faye worked with Mr Griggs, looking at the adaptations we make in classrooms to support all children to achieve their best. Mr Griggs shared the systems and processes we follow, and they spent time in classrooms to see the positive impact of planned adaptations in action! Faye also worked alongside Miss Hitchcock, considering the work we have been doing in our learning environments. They saw consistent approaches to our agreed learning environment principles across the school, and Faye loved the children sharing their class celebration walls with her. It was great to be able to share the lovely things going on in classrooms with Faye and consider next steps to make experiences for the children even better.
On Wednesday we had a very successful cake sale and Book Swap, read more here. A big thank you to everyone involved.
Our value for the term is ‘Courage’. We focused on the story last week about goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, who faked an injury to allow his Muslim teammates to break their fast during Ramadan, defying rules set by the French Football Federation. The children reflected on the different types of courage he had shown and decided he had shown moral, social and creative courage.
Finally, classes have been busy with Science week, having lots of fun!
