Bath Literature Festival for Hazel class

This week, Hazel Class had a wonderful trip to the Bath Children’s Literature Festival where we were lucky enough to meet author Louie Stowell, creator of the hilarious Loki series. The children were captivated as Louie shared stories about Loki’s mischievous adventures, and they were especially inspired when she showed us how she illustrates her characters.

Back in school, Hazel Class have been diving even deeper into Loki’s world. We enjoyed reading from her books together and then used our imaginations to create our very own “missing chapters”, filling in what Loki might have got up to next. The children showed real creativity in their writing, producing some fantastic pieces filled with humour, drama and, of course, a touch of mischief!

Let’s hope, however, that Hazel Class don’t follow Loki’s example too closely—after all, the god of mischief is not always the best role model. Instead, we’ll stick to being kind, honest and trustworthy mortals (the exact opposite of Loki!).

It’s been a brilliant week of books, creativity and inspiration. Well done Hazel Class!

“She has really benefited from the different ages mixing, she often talks of the older children.

We feel all the staff know her, which is so special.”
