This week reception has been having lots of fun. We have been developing our fine motor skills by threading beads and making patterns with on the peg boards. In English we have been using the Pink Panther story as a focus to develop our writing skills. In the outdoor area the children have got creative by role playing with the dinosaurs and painting pictures of the rainforest. They did an amazing collaborative piece of artwork!
In Year 1 and 2 we have been writing our own versions of the story There’s a Rangtan in my bedroom. I was very impressed to see the descriptive vocabulary used by the children. We have continued working on using capital letters and full stops, and sounding out our words. In Maths we have been doing a fantastic job at taking away, and we have been developing our problem-solving skills using a hundred square and a number line. The children created some amazing deforestation posters telling people why we need to stop cutting down trees!
