World Book Day 2017

This term, to celebrate 'World Book Day' the children dressed up as their favourite book characters - see if you can guess who they are?

To build on the children’s passion for reading and also celebrate ‘World Book Day’ the school had numerous events that brought the world of books alive. To capture all of this excitement the BBC came to interview the children about their love of books and the events that were taking place.

To begin, the children were challenged to use their growth mindset skills and create their own books. On the Monday Laura James, the author of Captain Pug, visited the whole school for creative writing sessions and to talk to the children about being an author. This was then followed by the famous illustrator of Horrible Histories - Martin Brown. The school was then visited by Joanna Wright who inspired the children to make and decorate their own books. The children then proceeded to write, illustrate and create their very own beautiful books. The results were amazing!
